Along the Kromme Rijn you can take a 29 km walk from Wijk bij Duurstede to Utrecht, which mainly goes over the towpath along the river. That's a tough walk. But you can also divide the entire route into stages and turn it into circular walks. This year, 2022, it is 900 years ago that the Kromme Rijn was dammed. A good reason to walk around the Kromme Rijn every month. The eighth circular walk of 7 km goes from Odijk to Bunnik over the towpath along the Kromme Rijn and a bit through the green triangle between Bunnik, Zeist and Driebergen. During the walk on largely unpaved paths you cross both the A12 and the railway line from Utrecht to Arnhem. Despite the proximity of roads, houses and industrial estates along the towpath, the impression that you are walking in the middle of nature prevails. From Bunnik, the walk goes on a paved road towards Zeist along the golf course and Wulperhorst estate. Via part of the very quiet clog path Stoetwegenpad you walk across the Wulperhorst estate back to the Kromme Rijn and the starting point of the walk.
