Provided by: Tosca, Zuid-Holland
Starting point: Arnhem station. End point: Oosterbeek station or Wolfheze station. For those who enjoy a forest walk with some variety, the Warnsborn NS walking tour is a good option. From the station you can walk into Sonsbeek park within a few minutes. So close to the city and yet a rolling, green area. In the Sonsbeek park you will find the Sonsbeek visitor center, De Witte Watermolen (a historic water wheel mill as there used to be many along the Veluwe streams) and the Dutch water museum. In Zypendaal park you walk past Huis Zypendaal. You can also visit this. After the Arnhem city parks, you walk through the Warnsborn, Vijverberg and Lichtenbeek estates. Just before Oosterbeek you pass the Airborne cemetery. After 10 km you can board the train in Oosterbeek or continue your way. You then walk along the Wolfhezerbeek with its 400-year-old Wodanse oaks and the Laag-Wolfheze nature reserve to Wolfheze station. The route to Wolfheze is 18 km. You can shorten the route again to 15.5 km along the way.
