Explore the cozy courtyards of Alkmaar, cycle along the old canals and discover the narrow streets. The historic center still has an old atmosphere due to the many monuments that the city is rich in. When you cycle into the dunes, a view of the North Sea opens up in front of you. Cycling is wonderful in the vast landscape of fields, dunes, forests and heathland. With a bit of luck you will see a sand lizard scurrying between the dunes or hear a pheasant or nightjar chirping. Moreover, in this area you can enjoy beautiful orchids and more than eight hundred different mushrooms.
