The rich past, between mines and ponds

At least two stops are a must: ZLDR AIRFABRIEK and De Kluis. The first is the impressive compressor room where compressed air used to be made for the underground. The second is a chapel on a beautiful hill between forests and ponds.

Domain Bovy
Arrival and starting point is the Domain Bovy nature reserve. Before you start the cycling tour, you can take your time to become 'zen' in the 34 hectare park: a pure breath of fresh air. Are you following the meadow path through the swamp? Or are you going to the new animal pasture? Children definitely want to romp in the playground or go searching with Martin the Kingfisher. Did you enjoy an ice cream or a coffee?
Then time for the bike. You cycle towards the canal (cycling junction 302), pass Circuit Zolder (303) and then turn to Kolenspoor (304 -> 311). Here it is nice to pedal out of the wind and in the greenery.

ZLDR Air Factory
You can take plenty of time to admire the mighty installations, intriguing films and light artworks in ZLDR Luchtfabriek. Anyone who passes here on the second or fourth Wednesday afternoon of the month will be amazed by the MijnMarkt, the largest in Limburg with more than 120 exhibitors.

Tarzan & Jane or The Vault?
Hunger or thirst?. There are plenty of places nearby. Just past junction 316, a tempting stop presents itself. On the way to the departure point you will pass Tarzan & Jane, the largest indoor playground in the Benelux with a free outdoor playground and large sun terrace (open when schools are closed). Does that require an explanation? But not visiting De Kluis is a shame. Leave your bike at the end of Kluisstraat. Climbing the hill on foot is part of the'revelation\\\'. This is the most inspiring piece of nature for miles around: vast, open, deep... Even more beautiful in real life than in the photo.
