The rich past, between mines and ponds

At least two stops are a must: ZLDR AIRFACTORY and De Kluis. The first is the impressive compressor hall where compressed air was once produced for the subsurface. The second is a chapel on a beautiful hill between forests and ponds.

Bovy Domain
Arrival and starting point is nature reserve Domein Bovy. Before you start the bike tour, you can take your time to become'zen\\\' in the 34 hectare park: a pure breath of fresh air. Will you follow the meadow path through the swamp? Or will you go to the new animal meadow? Children will definitely want to romp in the playground or go on a quest with Martin the Kingfisher. Did you enjoy an ice cream or a coffee?
Time for the bike then. You cycle towards the canal (cycle junction 302), pass Circuit Zolder (303) and then turn off to the Kolenspoor (304 -> 311). Here it is nice to cycle out of the wind and in the green.

ZLDR Air Factory
You can take your time to admire the mighty installations, intriguing films and light art works in ZLDR Luchtfabriek. Anyone who passes by here on the second or fourth Wednesday afternoon of the month will be amazed by the MijnMarkt, the largest in Limburg with more than 120 stallholders.

Tarzan & Jane or The Vault?
Hungry or thirsty? There are plenty of opportunities nearby. Just past junction 316, a tempting stop presents itself. On the way to the starting point, you will pass Tarzan & Jane, the largest indoor playground in the Benelux with a free outdoor playground and a large sun terrace (open when schools are closed). Does that need an explanation? But not visiting De Kluis would be a shame. Leave your bike at the end of Kluisstraat. Climbing the hill on foot is part of the'revelation\\\'. This is the most inspiring piece of nature in the area: wide, open, deep... Even more beautiful in real life than in the photo.
