The rich past, between mines and ponds

At least two stops are a must: ZLDR AIRFABRIEK and De Kluis. The first is the impressive compressor room where compressed air used to be made for the underground. The second is a chapel on a beautiful hill between woods and ponds.

Domain Bovy
Arrival and starting point is nature reserve Domein Bovy. Before you start the cycle tour, you can take your time to become'zen\\\' in the 34-hectare park: a pure breath of fresh air. Do you follow the beemdenpad through the swamp? Or are you going to the new animal pasture? Children want to romp in the playground anyway or go on a quest with Martin de IJsvogel. Did you enjoy an ice cream or a coffee?
Time for the bike then. You cycle towards the canal (bicycle junction 302), pass Circuit Zolder (303) and then turn onto the Kolenspoor (304 -> 311). Here it is nice to pedal out of the wind and in the green.

ZLDR Air Factory
You can take your time to admire the powerful installations, intriguing films and light artworks in ZLDR Luchtfabriek. Anyone who passes here on the second or fourth Wednesday afternoon of the month will be amazed at the MijnMarkt, the largest in Limburg with more than 120 exhibitors.

Tarzan & Jane or The Vault?
Hungry or thirsty?. There are plenty of venues nearby. A little past Junction 316, a tempting stop presents itself. On the way to the starting point you pass Tarzan & Jane, the largest indoor playground in the Benelux with a free outdoor playground and large sun terrace (open when schools are closed). Does that need an explanation? But not visiting De Kluis, that's a shame. Leave your bike at the end of the Kluisstraat. Climbing the hill on foot is part of the'revelation\\\'. This is the most inspiring piece of nature for miles around: wide, open, deep... In real life even more beautiful than on the photo.
