From a chance encounter with a deer to a look at the inhabitants of the reed, everything is possible with this walk in Westerwolde. Be surprised by everything you can find on your path here. Forester Jelka Vale has chosen this route as her personal favourite, so there are many beautiful things to do.
Into the woods
You start this tour at a parking lot just outside Sellingen. Here you can find good accommodation for your car, while you go out on foot. Then you set course via Sellingen to the beautiful forest that can be found in this area. Especially in the autumn it is really enjoyable here with the trees that get all kinds of colors, but also in the rest of the year it is bursting with natural beauty. At the Holle Beets Vennekampen you can enjoy a wide view of the area.
Birdwatching
A bit further on you can look for reed birds that are hidden between the reeds of the Helophyte filter. Other birds you can find in this area are skylarks. Keep your eyes open for this when you walk past field fields. At the end of the route you will return to the place where you started your trip.
Most of the walk is on an unpaved path and a small part on a boardwalk. Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash. Route is not suitable for disabled people.
