Day walk through the Deelerwoud : Walking at Woeste Hoeve

The walking route enters the Deelerwoud through an oak forest with a rich undergrowth of blueberries. Many animal species find their home in the Deelerwoud. Even if you can't see the animals themselves, you can still see their tracks. The fact that the Deelerwoud once was a shifting sand area can still be seen from the many overgrown drifting dunes that can be found in the forest. The Kleine Heide of the Deelerwoud also offers a number of beautiful views. There are several benches along the way to enjoy these views. There is a fallen tree in the middle of the Kleine Heide of the Deelerwoud. There are various methods to prevent the heath from becoming grassy: for example, mowing and draining or sod cutting. Along the route there are a number of strips where these different methods have been applied.
