Tour of Loonse Drunense Duinen from Vlijmen

Your route starts at IJs & Taartmoment. Enjoy something tasty here before you get on your bike. Cycling along the Heidijk you drive through the Nieuwkuijkse Bosje, a former coppice forest. The Loonse and Drunense Dunes have been declared a National Park because of the extensive sand drifts. You will also see beautiful forests there. Conifers predominate on the dry soils along the northern edge. Time seems to have stood still a bit in Giersbergen, the hamlet consists almost entirely of thatched, long-fronted farmhouses. Further on you drive along the canal, it is wonderfully quiet here as you travel for miles. In Drunen you can still experience the characteristic Brabant friendliness. In Haarsteeg and Elshout you will also see some beautiful old farms before you drive back to your starting point.
