Tour of Chaamse Bossen, Breda and Boswachterij Dorst

Your route starts at Restaurant Stad Parijs. From here you can discover the ancient forests around Chaam. You can cycle leisurely through forests and farmlands to the Chaamse Bos. This was once a rugged area with sand drifts and wet heath, but between 1900 and 1935 the area was cleared and planted with Scots pine. What peace you experience here! In the village of Chaam you will see the Antonius Abt Church from 1926, the sixteenth-century Ledevaert Church and some old farms. You cycle through the Markdal, a beautiful tranquil stream valley where you immediately experience the Brabant tranquility. The Mastbos dates back to the sixteenth century. You will see stately beech avenues, but also conifers. Bouvigne Castle and the Ginnekenmarkt are beautiful historical sights on your route.
