LILLEBAELT The Baltic Sea Cycle Route runs for 96 km through the coastal landscapes of the Little Belt. Going through the picturesque regions of Kolding, Fredericia and Middelfart, you\\\'ll discover that this is where history comes alive. You\\\'ll find the largest and best preserved city walls in Northern Europe in Fredericia as well as Koldinghus, the last royal castle in Jutland, and the UNESCO site Christiansfeld in the Southern part of the area. In Middelfart you\\\'ll be able to feel the wind and refreshing ocean spray on your face as you bridgewalk 60 meters above the water on the Little Belt Bridge. There\\\'s quite a view from up there! Cycling by the Little Belt also means cycling throught the biggest nature park in Denmark, Naturpark Lillebaelt, which covers over 370 km2 from Hejlsminde by Christiansfeld to Trelde Naes north of Fredericia. Here you will find a unique mixture of nature, landscapes, culture and geology. The nature around here is full of scenic, hilly terrains, idyllic beaches, old forests, rare flora and fauna and of course, the beautiful blue waters of the Little Belt. And finally, the Little Belt is home to one of the world\\\'s densest populations of porpoises - the smallest whale in the world. Because there are plenty of porpoises, chances of spotting the tiny whales are very good.
A holiday in Denmark means enjoying the local opportunities. Leave the car and explore the area by bicycle. You can of course take bicycles with you from home or rent them on the spot. Often nice trips have been mapped out and you only have to follow the directions, but you can also go on an adventure yourself and see where you end up.
