Tour of the New Maas and Broekpolder

Your route starts at Delta Hotel / Grand Café Nautique, with a beautiful view of the Nieuwe Maas. Enjoy a coffee with something tasty here before you set off. You first walk a bit along the Maasboulevard. Via the Heemtuin you walk to the nature around the Krabbeplas, a recreation area with beaches, sunbathing and playing fields. The remains of the Krabbeplasman were found here in 1990: a skeleton of 3300 years old. In the Broekpolder you will find a beautiful mix of forests, open spaces and water features. On the way back you walk along the Vlaardingervaart, a drainage canal that dates back to the Middle Ages. It is nice and quiet here with a view of the Broekpolder and the Vlaardingen-Holy district. This green district is named after the Knight's Court Holy.
