Amersfoort Eemland-Hoogland-Spakenburg

The Eemlandroute is an existing ANWB route. This GPS route is a shortened and improved route. The route starts in the Kattenbroek district in Amersfoort, then continues through Hoogland and Hoogland-West past the Kapel Coelhorst, through the meadows to Baarn and Eemdijk. Here you cycle along the Eem for a while. At Eemdijk a ferry goes to Eemnes and a little further on you could also get on the bicycle boat (www.eemlijn.nl). However, our route continues along the Eemmeer, on the other side in the polder you will see a real windmill farm. We pass the beach and the harbor of Spakenburg: let a fish swim here. Then up the dike to catch some flies and then down the dike to continue along the Laak. We come across a narrow shell path, there is a good chance that you will have to avoid the sheep here. How rural do you want it? When we leave the Laak behind us, we cross a bit of Vathorst to return via the A1 in Kattenbroek.
