Tour of Den Bosch and Loonse Drunense Dunes

Your route starts at De Speeltol. You cycle to Den Bosch via the pleasant fortified town of Heusden with its beautiful star-shaped fortifications. You cycle through the historical heart of the city and then cycle through the Bossche Broek, which is increasingly changing back into the marshland of almost four centuries ago. The highlight of the route is the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park, with its beautiful forests and sand drifts. Time seems to have stood still in Giersbergen, the hamlet consists almost entirely of thatched long-façade farms. The Schans near Doeveren was built in the sixteenth century to defend the Elshoutse Zeedijk and the Bovenlandse Sluis. You cycle back along the Bergsche Maas. This part of the Maas was dug by hand at the end of the nineteenth century.
