Your route starts at Restaurant Aan De Hoeve, with a nice piece of Limburg pie on the beautiful terrace. With this walking route you will get to know the beautiful nature of the Effelder Waldsee, a beautiful lake. During this walking route you walk through the beautiful nature reserve. A quiet route suitable for both the avid hiker and the beginner. Back at your starting point, take a look at the Gitstappermolen. The water mill is fed by the water of the Rothenbach, also known as the Red Brook, which flows into the Roer further on. The Rothenbach forms a border between Germany (Nord-Rhein-Westphalia) and the Netherlands (Limburg). There is a shop at the Gitstappermolen that sells its own bread and cake mixes that have been processed in the Gitstappermolen.
