Mill route: Effelder Waldsee loop

Your route starts at Restaurant Aan De Hoeve, where you can enjoy a delicious slice of Limburg pie on the lovely terrace. This walking route introduces you to the beautiful nature of the Effelder Waldsee, a charming lake. It takes you through this beautiful nature reserve. A peaceful route suitable for both avid hikers and beginners. Back at your starting point, take a look at the Gitstappermolen mill. The mill is fed by the water of the Rothenbach, also known as the Red Brook, which flows into the Roer River further on. The Rothenbach forms a border between Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia) and the Netherlands (Limburg). At the Gitstappermolen mill, there's a shop selling homemade bread and cake mixes.
