From Hotel-Restaurant Poort van Franeker you first enter Franeker, a beautiful town full of monumental buildings. You will see, among other things, the town hall built in Renaissance style from 1594. You will also pass the world-famous planetarium that Eise Eisinga built between 1774 and 1781, and a little later you will pass Museum Martena, which is located in a stins from 1498. Continue north of Franeker. the Horne region. Here you will find a vast landscape of vast fields and meadows. Ideal for getting a breath of fresh air. In Sexbierum you see the thirteenth-century Sixtus Church, and further on is the gatehouse of the Liauckama State, which was demolished in 1824.
