Tour of Harlingen and Franeker

First you drive a bit through the Frisian polders. Along the Doijumervaart you look out over grasslands where sheep graze. When you enter the terp village of Hitzum you will see the village church from 1883. Further on you drive into Harlingen. The old center enjoys a protected cityscape because of its many monuments. Here you will pass, among other things, the Hannemahuis, the municipal museum that is located in an eighteenth-century patrician house. The Raadhuisbrug is located on the beautiful Noorderhaven, and if you walk over it, you can take a look at the town hall from 1730. Via Wijnaldum and Herbaijum you drive to Franeker, the second historical hotspot on this route. Feel free to hop off and enjoy the atmosphere in this old town. And visit the world-famous Eise Eisinga Planetarium.
