Tour of Giethoorn and Steenwijk from Havelte

Your route starts at LUDIC food and sleep in Havelte. In the old mining villages of Nijeveen and Kolderveen you can see beautiful hall house farms. Picturesque Giethoorn is known as Venice of the North thanks to its many bridges and waterways. The Reformed Church dates from 1645. In the area you have beautiful views of lakes such as the Molengat and the Bovenwijde. Steenwijk is a former fortified town. It was strategically located during the Eighty Years' War, so it was regularly fought over. The town has more than 60 national monuments, including De Markt and the city canals. There was already a wooden church building on the site of the Grote Kerk around 900. Later a stone church was erected. The fifteenth-century tower is the oldest surviving structure in Steenwijk.
