Burgundian enjoyment in South Limburg

What are the first things that come to mind when you think of South Limburg? Hills, Burgundian food and perhaps typical Limburg beer such as Brand and Gulpener. These are exactly the ingredients of this short but spicy bike ride. It should be clear that Limburg is crazy about Burgundian enjoyment with alcoholic drinks, because the number of distillers and brewers of alcohol is much larger here than in other provinces. From Gulpen you cycle up and down to Simpelveld. All those hills make this route a sporting challenge. Along the way you have a beautiful view of beautiful green hillside forests and meadows, half-timbered farms and churches. Eventually you will arrive at the Bernardushoeve in Mingersborg, a typical Limburg square farm. Relax in the cozy courtyard with a delicious Limburg beer and a tasty meal. Enough choice! RIvier de Geul has a southern branch a little further on, the Gulp. This narrower stream goes straight through the village of Gulpen.
