A tour of the Flood Museum and bird-rich creeks

Your route starts at Café De Gekroonde Suikerbeet in beautiful old Zierikzee. On the Oosterschelde you will pass the Flood Museum where you can take the time to learn everything about this drama. The museum is located in the four caissons that closed the last hole in the dike at Ouwerkerk. It is beautifully situated in a creek area that was created during the disaster. Today you will discover many more beautiful creeks by bike - bring binoculars, because you will see many birds! You drive along the Prunje, the oldest polder of the island. The former swamp has been returned to nature thanks to the'Plan Tureluur\\\', this is now a true bird paradise. So worth a stop!
