Tour of the Flood Museum and bird-rich creeks

Your route starts at Café De Gekroonde Suikerbiet in the beautiful old Zierikzee. On the Oosterschelde you will pass the Flood Museum where you can take the time to learn everything about this tragedy. The museum is located in the four caissons that closed the last hole in the dike at Ouwerkerk. It is beautifully situated in a creek area that was created during the disaster. Today you will discover many more beautiful creeks by bike - bring binoculars, because you will see many birds! You drive along the Prunje, the oldest polder on the island. The former swamp has been returned to nature thanks to the 'Plan Tureluur', which is now a true bird paradise. So it's worth taking a break!
