Walk Nieuwkoop and Groene Jonker

From Nieuwkoop you first walk along the edge of the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, one of the few remaining peat bogs in our country. You have a beautiful view over the rippling water. The houses here are still on islands that are only accessible via a small bridge. While walking you can take in this characteristic Dutch environment. Further on you reach the Groene Jonker. Here you see a beautiful mix of water, rustling reed collars and wet grasslands. Special meadow and marsh birds can be admired here at any time of the year, such as black-winged stilts, black-eared grebes, lapwings and black terns. You walk along an unpaved path along the Kromme Mijdrecht, after which the route takes you back to Nieuwkoop. Hungry?
