Views from the Haarlerberg

De Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park is another one of those places where you experience an almost un-Dutch silence. In addition to peace and quiet, you will also find beautiful views here. This walk takes you over the Haarlerberg. The rolling landscape here is formed by sliding ice and shifting sand. For a large part of the route you walk through the heathlands that once covered the entire Sallandse ridge. In the forests you walk through a mixture of coniferous and deciduous trees. You see species such as Scots pine, larch and Douglas fir, but also birch. The irregular shapes of the old oak trees here are beautiful. The route takes you past Bistro De Oale Stè, the bistro is located in a farmhouse from 1800. Perfect for a drink on the cozy terrace!
