Views from the Haarlerberg

National Park De Sallandse Heuvelrug is another of those places where you experience an almost un-Dutch silence. In addition to peace, you will also find beautiful views here. This walk takes you over the Haarlerberg. The rolling landscape here has been formed by sliding ice and drifting sand. A large part of the route you walk through the heathlands that once covered the entire Sallandse Heuvelrug. In the forests you walk through a mixture of coniferous and deciduous trees. You see species such as Scots pine, larch and Douglas fir, but also birch. The whimsical shapes that the old oaks have here are beautiful. The route takes you past Bistro De Oale Stè, the bistro is located in a farm from 1800. Perfect for a drink on the cozy terrace!
