This walking route introduces you to the special character of Marken. There are so many beautiful historic buildings to see that almost all of Marken enjoys a protected cityscape. The walk takes you through the streets of the typical Marker residential neighborhoods. It is wonderful to get a breath of fresh air in Marken. From the west coast you can see Volendam and Monnickendam on the horizon. On the east side you walk past the Paard van Marken, a lighthouse from 1839. The start and end point of this route is Brasserie Restaurant De. Taankettle. Come here for lunch or dinner before or after your walking tour. Also a nice place for coffee and something tasty!
