Description

Your route starts with a cup of coffee at Het Sonnetje Pannenkoeken & Zo. You first walk into Maasland, a picturesque mining village that is centuries old. Thanks to the many monumental buildings, you will experience a wonderful historic atmosphere here. In 1574 this area was flooded when William of Orange had the dikes pierced to drive out the Spaniards. The Oude Kerk originally dates from the fourteenth century. Then you discover Maassluis. This town arose around 1340 as a small settlement, where people mainly lived from fishing. In the nineteenth century, Maassluis became world famous for being a towage company. The activities on the water expanded to ship salvage. Pay a visit to the National Towing Museum, which can still be found in the town!
