A figure eight through Maasland and the polder

Your route starts at Het Sonnetje Pannenkoeken & Zo. Would you like to take a tour through the polder, or would you rather walk into the beautiful historic Maasland? With this walking route you can enjoy both! In the picturesque and centuries-old Maasland you walk through the old village heart. Part of Maasland enjoys a protected village view. Thanks to the many monumental buildings, you will experience a wonderful historic atmosphere here. The Oude Kerk originally dates from the fourteenth century. Maasland has traditionally been a mining village. In 1574, this area was flooded when William of Orange breached the dikes to drive out the Spaniards. After a delicious pancake at your starting point, you take a nice tour through the polder, past the Foppenplas.
