A figure eight through Maasland and the polder

Your route starts at Het Sonnetje Pannenkoeken & Zo. Do you fancy a walk through the polder, or would you rather walk into the beautiful historic Maasland? With this walking route you can enjoy both! In the picturesque and centuries-old Maasland you walk through the old village centre. Part of Maasland enjoys a protected village view. Thanks to the many monumental buildings you will experience a wonderful historical atmosphere here. The Oude Kerk originally dates from the fourteenth century. Maasland has traditionally been a reclamation village. In 1574 this area was flooded when William of Orange had the dikes cut through to drive out the Spanish. After a delicious pancake at your starting point you will make another beautiful walk through the polder, along the Foppenplas.
