Tour of Utrechtse Heuvelrug: Amerongen and Austerlitz

Your route starts at Van der Valk Hotel De Bilt - Utrecht. You will be taken through the beautiful nature of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The extensive forests on this route are full of old estates and castles that exude the atmosphere of yesteryear. Be sure to stop at Amerongen Castle, one of the most beautiful castles here. Admire the castle and walk through the impressive garden that shows more than four centuries of history. Other castles on the route are Kerkebosch Castle and Slot Zeist. The village of Austerlitz also has a special history, it is named after a famous victory of Napoleon. It is known for the Austerlitz Pyramid of the same name, a 36-meter-high earth pyramid built in 1804 by Napoleonic soldiers.
