Description

First you cycle to Maassluis, a nice place to get off. This medieval town became world famous in the nineteenth century because of a towing company. You can still find the National Towing Museum there. Then you get on the Maassluis-Rozenburg ferry - you might even see enormous container ships up close! One of the most beautiful places along the route is the historic Brielle with its beautifully preserved fortifications. The old city walls, nine bastions, five ravelins, an eighteenth-century gatehouse and a furnished harbour battery with a bombproof guardhouse and many bunkers give Brielle a very unique atmosphere.
