Tour of Holten, Holterberg and Regge

Your route starts at Cafe Restaurant Bowlingcentrum't Witte Hoes. First you cycle through the countryside of Holten, along farmland and meadows. From here you cycle into the village of Holten, at the foot of the Holterberg, which measures 59.5 meters above NAP at its highest point. Holten borders the Sallandse Heuvelrug and you will be in the national park in no time. All kinds of birds live here. It is the only habitat of the black grouse in the Netherlands. The forests on the Sallandse Heuvelrug have been planted to prevent sand drifts and form a nice alternation with the heaths. Molen Ter Horst in Rijssen is an octagonal upper porter from 1752, which is beautifully situated along the Regge.
