Tour of Heusden and Loonse Drunense Dunes

Your route starts in the National Park Loonse & Drunense Duinen, with its beautiful forests and sand drifts. You will pass through Heusden, a fortified town restored in the old style. Take your time to visit this town, thanks to the many centuries-old buildings and fortifications it seems as if you are traveling back in time. At the Vismarkt you can enjoy a cup of coffee and apple pie at't Wapen van Heusden. You continue along the Maas. A little later you will pass the Haarsteegse Wiel, which was created in 1610 when a dike broke. This route takes you back through the nice little Giersbergen, here time seems to have stood still a bit. The hamlet consists almost entirely of thatched long-façade farms
