Description

Around Steenbergen you see the other face of North Brabant: marine clay polders with extensive grasslands and arable land. A region also with many worth seeing villages and monuments. In the center of the town of Steenbergen you will find a nice atmosphere. In this former fortified town you can see some beautiful monumental buildings. You pass the White Church, a neoclassical water state church from 1831. Just above Steenbergen you pass Fort Henricus. It was built in 1626 and belonged to the West Brabant Waterline. Then you walk a bit along the Dintel to the marina of the church village of De Heen. In the polders you can get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the tranquility before you walk back to your starting point.
