Tour of Rucphense Bossen from Rucphen

Your route starts at Het Wapen van Nassau in Rucphen. After a cup of coffee, put on your walking shoes. From your starting point you can walk straight into the Rucphense Bossen. This forest area is enormous, it extends to the border with Belgium. Originally there was a cover sand ridge here with heathlands and drifting sand areas. The forests that exist today were created when the area was planted with conifers in the early 20th century, but you can also still find deciduous trees there. The deeper you walk into the forest, the quieter it becomes. You will have no trouble switching back here. You walk past fields and meadows on a car-free road out of the Rucphense Bossen. You walk back through the hamlet of Posthoorn.
