Walking through park Gunterstein

From Hotel Flora Batava you walk towards the village of Breukelen. In Breukelen you cross the bridge at the Brugstraat. On the other side is Ridderhofstad Gunterstein. Gunterstein Castle is privately owned, but part of the park-like garden is open to the public. You continue your route along the Scheendijk. The marina of Breukelen is located here and is directly connected to the Loosdrecht lakes. You then arrive in Nieuwersluis past the many country estates on the Vecht. Just before the bridge you will see the women's prison on your left. You cross the Vecht here and arrive at Fort Nieuwersluis. The fortress island and the barracks can be viewed from the outside and there is also a tavern here where you can enjoy a delicious pastry.

You will return to Flora Batava via the country estates of Rupelmonde, Sterreschans and Over Holland.
