Tour of the woods of the Brabantse Wal

Your route starts at Grenshotel/Restaurant De Jonckheer. This cycling tour takes you through the forests of the Brabantse Wal. This moraine was created during the last Ice Age, 15 to 10,000 years ago. The edge of the sand plateau extends from the Belgian border to Steenbergen and reaches a height of up to 20 meters. Lievensberg Estate is also a must-see. Here the landscape consists of sand drifts, heath gardens and pine forests. A little later you drive into the Wouwse Plantage, one of the most beautiful forest areas in the Netherlands. This estate, built in the sixteenth century, has many coniferous forests, while in the north the land has been made suitable for agriculture. The few buildings that are there seem untouched by time.
