Tour of Kalmthoutse Heide from Ossendrecht

This bike tour takes you through the border park De Zoom - Kalmthoutse Heide. Via Huijbergen you cycle into this former low moor area. Over the centuries it has been transformed into a beautiful large heath with fens and pine forests. In nature you unknowingly cross the border. You pass Putte, a border village that is partly in the Netherlands, partly in Belgium. You cycle back through De Stoppelbergen, which is part of the border park. The path in this mixed forest undulates, because it is located on the Brabantse Wal. There are many maritime pines in the area, which you recognize by the long needles and large pine cones. The trees are always crooked and the bark has a very coarse structure.
