From bungalow park Het Verscholen Dorp you cycle straight into the forest, once you have crossed the N302 you enter the endless Veluwe massif. After a bit of forest you will be surprised by the impressive desert landscape of the Bekhuizerzand. The route continues through the shady leafy woods of the Leuvenum and past Elspeetse Heide, which can be admired in beautiful bloom in mid-late August. Your background music is the whistling of the birds and with a bit of luck you may spot deer or a family of wild boars.
The route sometimes goes slightly uphill and then downhill again, a nice combination of effort and relaxation.
Just before junction 29 you pass the Zandenplas recreational area. Near't Harde you pass the Ampie\\\'s mountain rest point. Inspired by the Austrian landscape, the owner created a garden with more than 1,000 different flowers and plants. Past't Harde, the route takes you past the A.Vogel Gardens, which you can visit for free, and where the herbs are grown for the natural A.Vogel products.
In Elburg you should definitely take the time for a cup of coffee or something else on one of the terraces of this beautiful Hanseatic fortress and contemplate the daily routine there.
Near Junction 01 you cycle past the foundations of the old St. Ludgerus Church. The church was demolished after heavy damage by a storm in February 1825 and a fire in October 1825. The tour continues along a beautiful landscape full of meadows with sheep, cows and horses. On the way back to Harderwijk you have a beautiful view over the Veluwemeer.
Ultimately you cycle back to the center of Harderwijk, where you can enjoy a terrace or the beach island depending on the weather, before cycling back to Bungalow Park Het Verscholen Dorp for your well-deserved rest!
