Nice long route to the Boetelerveld

Your route starts at Jorink Bakery - Lunchroom - Ice Cream Parlour. With this long walk you explore the low-lying part of Salland. The landscape changes between farmland, nature reserve and historic estates with old port properties. The residents of this region are said to be very hospitable. Experience this yourself, for example at one of the farms where regional products are sold! You enter the countryside via Mariënheem. The Boetelerveld nature reserve, measuring 170 hectares, is located southeast of Raalte. Here you will find the last piece of moist heathland that used to cover the whole of Salland. The area is grazed by a herd of Scottish Highland cattle. There are several pools and a larger pond in the area where you will also find a viewing hut to spot water birds such as the little grebes.
