Walking route Volendam and Marken with ferry

Your route starts at Restaurant Pieterman. This is not just a walking route, but a complete day out! You first take a city walk through Volendam. There is a pleasant atmosphere in the harbor of Volendam. You will also find beautiful buildings, such as a simple wooden bell tower with a wedding bell from 1771. The building of the Cooperative Visafslag St. Vincentius is a monument from 1934. After a nice lunch at your starting point, you get on the ferry to Marken, with beautiful views over the Gouwzee. The Paard van Marken is one of the most beautiful places on the island. This striking lighthouse dates from 1839. In 1971, the tower was pushed a few centimeters out of place by drifting ice! In the village of Marken you can see beautiful monumental wooden houses.
