Your route starts at Restaurant Pieterman. The day gets off to a good start, with a boat trip to Marken! The striking lighthouse Het Paard van Marken dates from 1839. In the village of Marken you will see beautiful monumental wooden houses. In the polder area you see old farms, grassy meadows and straight ditches. From the dike you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. The Waterland is a unique Dutch peat meadow landscape. It has been designated a National Landscape. Broek in Waterland is a beautiful old village where you see monumental wooden houses.'t Twiske is a nature and recreational area that was created, among other things, by peat extraction. Here you have beautiful views over the Stootersplas and the rugged marshlands. Then you will discover Purmerend, the lovely Edam and the port of Volendam.
