Description
Varied walk through the city centre of Bergen van Op Zoom with its old buildings, cosy shops and enough terraces to enjoy the walk in good weather. Then through a piece of landscape park towards the area on the Binnenschelde. On this boulevard you walk with a view of the Binnenschelde.
On the other side, a little further away from the buildings, you walk through beautiful open nature reserves with views of various bodies of water.
Tip 1: The signage of the walking junction network is not clear enough, especially in the centre of Bergen op Zoom. At crucial intersections, stickers with the direction arrows are missing. The route from the Grote Markt is as follows:
At the end of the Grote Markt, turn right into Fortuinstraat, then take the second street on the left into Lievevrouwestraat, then the third street on the right into Westersingel and then continue straight ahead via Het Retranchement.
Tip 2: If you are not interested in the city centre of Bergen op Zoom, you can also avoid it by driving through and parking at Boulevard Noord. This is right on the boulevard of the Binnenschelde. By public transport, take bus 25 from Bergen op Zoom station to Bergse Plaat. Also get off at Boulevard Noord.
