Description
Nice cycling through the wooded Brabant countryside, past beautiful windmills and the forests of the Maashorst.
The Pits
Recreation area 'De Kuilen' consists of a number of lakes that were created by sand excavations, including for the brick factory. Here the so-called green sand is extracted that is used in road construction. It originates from the Miocene and the Pliocene. The Hellemolen is a beautiful white-painted stone belt mill from 1832. Only the hull of the Nooit Gedacht mill has been preserved. The last part of the route you cycle again through the wonderful forests of nature reserve Maashorst.
