Round Kasterlee

Kasterlee was once chosen as the most beautiful village in the Belgian province of Antwerp, so it is an excellent starting point for this cycling route through the Belgian Kempen. 

Soon you will pass the cute Kabouterberg. Here the red pointed hats call the shots. In this play forest, the natural elements such as sand plains and exposed tree roots are used to build obstacles and playing surfaces. If you want to cycle with young children, it is recommended to let them play there afterwards, otherwise they will not want to come along. The Kabouterberg is freely accessible from sunrise to sunset.
Less than a kilometer after the start you will pass the still functioning water wheel mill in the stream Kleine Nete. You can also canoe on this lovely stream.

In addition to cycling, you can get your muscles moving in many other ways on and along this route. On the west side of Kasterlee you pass the recreation area and nature reserve De Hoge Rielen. The vast nature reserve offers everything: camping facilities, a hostel, a theatre, sports hall, sports fields and a swimming pond.

Your taste buds will also be served along the way: you will cycle past farms where delicious artisanal products are sold door-to-door. All in all a nice sporty bike ride, not to mention the varied landscape of forest, water features and farmland also provides plenty of entertainment.
