Grand tour of the Veluwe from Nunspeet

A cycling route from the nice Nunspeet along endless forests, vast heaths and cozy villages. Just outside Elspeet is mill De Hoop, a beautiful half belt, half scaffold mill from 1894. The route passes close to the small town of Staverden with its beautiful white castle and the garden with the famous white peacocks. Staverden received city rights in 1298, making it the smallest town in the Benelux. Much of the forest you cycle through today belongs to De Koninklijke Houtvesterij Het Loo: the largest contiguous forest area in the Netherlands. It is part of Kroondomein Het Loo, which you cycle behind.
