In the hamlet of Diepenveen you will pass Huis Nieuw Rande. Its predecessor, Oud Rande, is already mentioned in documents from 1285. The tower you see is the only remaining remnant of the old manor. The current, replacement new Nieuw Rande building was built around 1850 and was completely restored at the beginning of the 21st century. You drive straight through Diepenveen and then pick up the Zandwetering. In the gently rolling landscape you regularly see canals and old waterways. Via Lettele you cycle to the village of Oude Molen, named after the De Leeuw mill from 1856. In Bathmen you pass the fifteenth-century village church. Further on there are two beautiful flour mills. You cycle back along the Schipbeek, a side stream of the IJssel.
