Geniedijk

Start on the north side of Alphen aam de Rijn on the old Herenweg. Leave Alphen via Ter aar along the Brasum to Leimuiden. The route now continues along the ring canal and the Westeinderplassen towards Aalsmeer, don't forget to eat an eel sandwich at Evelijns. In front of the lake, turn left onto the cycle path that runs right through the Haarlemmeer along the Geniedijk. If you like plane spotting you can do this fantastic from the beautiful bicycle bridge over the A4. The cycle path ends at a fort with catering facilities and a museum. The tour turns left at junction 88 and you continue the tour along the ring canal after 2 km. you at the Cruquius steam pumping station definitely worth a visit. You continue to follow the ring canal to Oude Wetering where you will be led along the Brasum according to the nodes to the bicycle ferry across the Paddegat (€ 1.20). a little further along the Heimanswetering and the Heuvelweg to arrive at the starting point.
