Description
The Heikant IVN nature walk takes you through centuries-old arable land and former heathland that has been massively planted with coniferous wood over the past 100 years.
The heath was vital for agriculture for many centuries. Sheep, which provided fertilizing manure, could graze there. Heather stretched as far as the eye could see. However, the heathland became redundant for farming and the wastelands began to be cultivated or afforested.
The walk goes through diverse landscape; You walk through forest areas, past meadows and there are several fens along the route.

The walk starts and ends at Restaurant't Brabants Genot, where you can have a drink or snack afterwards.
