Tour of IJzerenbosch and Nieuwstadt

Your route starts at Koffiehuis & Brasserie het IJzerenbos. From here you can take a nice walk through typical Limburg nature and a nice village. From your starting point you can walk straight into the Iron Forest, one of the most beautiful forests in the area with beautiful deciduous trees. It is nice and cool to walk under the deciduous trees. The bottom is covered with a white sea of flowering wood anemones, a beautiful picture! Near junction 10 you cross the Middelsgraaf. This stream was dug as a drainage ditch as early as the thirteenth century. You walk back to your starting point via Nieuwstadt. The thirteenth-century street plan has been preserved in Nieuwstadt. On the Markt you will see the former Town Hall from 1883. The St. John's Church is built from marl and originally dates from the thirteenth century.
