Tour of IJzerenbosch and Nieuwstadt

Your route starts at Koffiehuis & Brasserie het IJzerenbos. From here you can take a nice walk through typical Limburg nature and a nice village. From your starting point you can walk straight into the IJzerenbos, one of the most beautiful forests in the area with beautiful deciduous trees. It is nice and cool to walk under the deciduous trees. In it, the bottom is covered with a white sea of blooming forest anemones, a beautiful picture! Near junction 10 you cross the Middelsgraaf. This stream was already dug in the thirteenth century as a drainage ditch. Via Nieuwstadt you walk back to your starting point. In Nieuwstadt, the thirteenth-century street plan has been preserved. On the Markt you can see the former Town Hall from 1883. The Sint-Janskerk is built from marl, it originally dates from the thirteenth century.
