Tour of IJzerenbosch near Susteren

Your route starts at Koffiehuis & Brasserie het IJzerenbos. From here you can walk straight into the IJzerenbos, one of the most beautiful forests in the area with beautiful deciduous trees, just outside Susteren. You walk through the border region with Germany. Get up early so that you can breathe in the freshness of the morning dew. It is nice and cool to walk under the deciduous trees. In the the ground is covered with a white sea of blooming wood anemones, a beautiful picture! Near junction 10 you cross the Middelsgraaf. This stream was dug as a drainage ditch in the thirteenth century. Just outside the forest you walk along a road where hardly any cars drive, past meadows and fields. Here you can fully enjoy the beautiful Limburg nature!
