Round IJzerenbosch near Susteren

Your route starts at Koffiehuis & Brasserie het IJzerenbos. From here you can walk straight into the IJzerenbos, one of the most beautiful forests in the area with beautiful deciduous trees, just outside Susteren. You walk here through the border region with Germany. Head out nice and early so you can soak up the freshness of the morning dew. It is nice and cool to walk under the deciduous trees. The bottom is covered with a white sea of flowering wood anemones, a beautiful picture! Near junction 10 you cross the Middelsgraaf. This stream was already dug in the thirteenth century as a drainage ditch. Just outside the forest you walk on a road where hardly any cars drive, along meadows and fields. You can fully enjoy the beautiful Limburg nature here!
