Tour of estates near Lisse and Heemstede

Your route starts at EuroParcs Parc du Soleil, in the middle of the flower bulb fields. First you make a nice meander through the dunes. You also drive past beautiful nature reserves that are lined with capital villas and country estates. Take the Leyduin estate, for example, once used as a summer residence by prominent families. There are relatively many villas in Aerdenhout. You drive through Heemstede on leafy roads. Heemstede Castle was a thirteenth-century castle that was rebuilt after a number of destructions. Until the fortress was finally demolished in 1810. Here you can still see the remains of the castle and the beautiful former steward's house. Keukenhof is an estate of more than two hundred hectares with beautiful bulb gardens. Also visit Keukenhof Castle, where you can see how the nobility used to live.
