Tour of Oosterduinse Meer and Sancta Maria near Noordwijkerhout

Your route starts at EuroParcs Noordwijkse Duinen. You will soon be walking along Lake Como. At least, that is what the Oosterduinse Meer recreational area is called by the locals. On the other side of the water you can see the bulb fields. During the season you will find a beautiful range of intense colors here: from the crocuses at the end of March, to the gladioli, dahlias, carnations and asters in late summer. Not everything has been excavated for bulb cultivation: between the park forest of Sancta Maria and the dunes you can still see a small-scale mix of grasslands with hedgerows, dune fields and coppice fields. In the forests of the Hollands Duin you suddenly notice the silence and shelter. The dunes not only block the sea, they also break the wind.
