Tour of the Oosterduinse Meer and Sancta Maria near Noordwijkerhout

Your route starts at EuroParcs Noordwijkse Duinen. You will soon walk along Lake Como. At least, that is what the locals call the Oosterduinse Meer recreation area. On the other side of the water you can see the bulb fields. In season you will find a beautiful array of intense colours here: from the crocuses at the end of March, to the gladioli, dahlias, carnations and asters in late summer. Not everything has been dug up for bulb cultivation: between the park forest of Sancta Maria and the dunes you can still see a small-scale mix of grasslands with hedgerows, dune fields and coppice fields. In the forests of the Hollands Duin, the silence and shelter suddenly strike you. The dunes not only keep out the sea, they also break the wind.
