Tour of Egmond, Bergen and Schoorl

Your route starts at EuroParcs Koningshof. Between Bergen, Egmond aan Zee and Alkmaar you will find a beautiful dune area that is waiting to be discovered. A nice trip near the sea! In the artists' village of Bergen you see many beautiful stately buildings. In the polders between Alkmaar and Bergen you will pass three polder mills. The Wimmenumermolen dates from 1774. The Robonsbosmolen is a beautiful thatched example from 1781. The Damlandermolen is the oldest: it was built in 1700. You pass through Bergen aan Zee and Egmond aan Zee, two pleasant seaside resorts. Then you cycle through the Schoorlse Duinen. A century ago this was one large sandbox, now you drive through open drifting dunes, dense forests and heathlands.
