A tour of the Broeker Veiling, Eilandspolder and Alkmaar

Your route starts at EuroParcs Koningshof. You will soon pass the Broeker Veiling. The monumental wooden auction building from 1912 now serves as a museum, so a nice stop! From the bike you can see the vast grasslands of the old Droogmakerij Schermer. Occasionally you pass an authentic farmhouse. You drive along the Eilandspolder, on the edge are picturesque villages such as Grootschermer, Noordeinde and the former harbor town of Graft. What a beautiful region! Alkmaar is known as a real Dutch cheese city, but has more to offer. For example, the historic city center, where there are no fewer than 399 national monuments. Step off and stroll through the beautiful old streets. Then you cycle straight through the polder back to your starting point.
