Tour of the dunes, Schoorl and climbing dune

Your route starts at EuroParcs Koningshof. From here you can walk straight into the Schoorlse Duinen. The dunes are among the widest and highest in the Netherlands. The forest was created in the nineteenth century because the residents of nearby Schoorl wanted to prevent their village from disappearing under the shifting sand. You will now find more than sixty kilometers of hiking trails along heaths, forests and through the dunes. In the autumn you will find hundreds of mushroom species in this beautiful nature reserve. After the forest and the dunes you will discover the nice Schoorl where you can enjoy a terrace at the bottom of the Klimduin. You walk down the Klimduin, very special. And a lot easier than going up! Then you make another nice loop through the polder back to your starting point.
